Questions and answers
Is the app free?
Yes. There are no ads, in-app purchases or accounts.
How do I open the grown-up area?
Tap the lock button at the top right of the Play or Me tab, then answer the grown-up multiplication question. The Parent Zone has player progress, help for parents, printable targets, players and settings.
Can I turn off the real-gun lessons?
Yes. World 3, “How Real Guns Work,” only shows for players aged 8 and up. To hide it for everyone, open the Parent Zone, go to Settings and turn off “Show 'How Real Guns Work' (ages 8+).” Players aged 5 to 7 never see it. The lessons teach children to stop and not touch.
How do I change a player's age?
Open the Parent Zone, go to Players and tap Edit next to the player. Only grown-ups can change the age.
Where is player progress saved?
Player profiles and progress are saved on this iPhone. There are no accounts or cloud sync, so a new iPhone starts fresh unless you restore it from a device backup.
How do I reset progress or delete a player?
In the Parent Zone, Settings can reset the current player's progress, and Players lets you delete a player.
Can more than one child play?
Yes. Up to four players can use one iPhone. Use “Switch player” on the Me tab.
Can the app read words out loud?
Yes. In Parent Zone Settings, Read-aloud can be Auto, On or Off. Auto is on for ages 5 to 7 and off for ages 8 and up. Sounds and haptics can also be turned off there.
Why does the app ask about an age range?
On iOS 26 and later, the app may ask Apple for an age range you choose to share. It uses the answer on the device to suggest a player's age band during setup. You can decline. The app does not save the age-range response; the selected age band is saved with the player profile. Read the Blaster Buddies app privacy policy.
Does the app send player information online?
Player profiles and progress stay on this iPhone and are not sent to Shellblaster. The optional age-range request uses Apple's Declared Age Range feature. Read the Blaster Buddies app privacy policy.
Does the app replace firearm-safety training?
No. The app does not replace safe firearm storage, adult supervision or training from a certified instructor. Toy blasters are toys, never real firearms.
